    Abstract:

Recent studies have demonstrated that fucoidans and their degradation products possess various biological activities. Thus, the enzymes to hydrolyze fucoidans attract more attention. This review summarizes the recent achievements in the discovery, detection of activity, properties and application of fucoidan-degrading enzymes derived from marine microorganisms. Also, the approaches to understand fucoidan-degrading enzymes from marine microorganisms are introduced. It is expected that the rapid development of modern omics and structural biology will promote the research of novel fucoidan-degrading enzymes derived from marine microorganisms.
